Singapore Cycling Federation has announced a 2nd postponement

It was revealed by the Singapore Cycling Federation that the OCBC National Championships 2023 individual time trial will now take place from September 3 instead of June 25.

SCF postponed the event from June 18 to June 25 due to difficulties obtaining the necessary permits.

Several affected individuals told today they were upset and angry about the lack of planning.

SCF General Manager Mahipal Singh announced that the organization will hold a town hall meeting to discuss 2024 events and gather feedback from affiliated cycling teams.

It was “painful and demoralizing” for both SCF and the players, he said.

On June 13, CF General Manager Mahipal Singh said the delay “is as painful and demoralizing for us as it is for the riders.”

As a result, the organization plans to hold a town hall meeting to discuss 2024 events and gather feedback from affiliated cycling clubs.

The national sports association informed attendees that the event is now rescheduled for September 3 due to the failure to secure necessary road permits and government approvals.

The option to receive their money back was also available to those who signed up for the race but couldn’t attend on the new date.

The race had been moved from its planned date of June 18 to June 25 because of building work going on where it was supposed to take place.

Riders on different types of bikes compete in the race, completing 10-kilometer laps. Those who finish the race at Tanah Merah Coast Road in the shortest time win.

I need to train for a half-ironman in October, which includes swimming and running. I’m unsure if I can still race, as planning might disrupt my life too much.

I’m not sure if I can still run the race, because planning for it might get in the way of my life too much.

Swimming, biking, and running are all parts of a half-Ironman triathlon race.

President of Matador Racing, Mr. Dan Smith, 50, said that the same thing had happened with the individual time trial the previous year.

Speaking TODAY, Mr. Singh of SCF said that he had personally apologized to many of the heads of bicycle clubs in connection with the news.

In addition to giving refunds to people who signed up but can’t make it to the race, Mr. Singh also wants to plan better in the future.

“As of 2024, we are taking a fresh look at our event calendar and strategy.” We no longer want to deal with these problems.

Even though Mr. Singh admits that there was a mistake in getting the necessary permissions for closing roads for this year’s event, he saw a bright side to the bad news.

However, some people who couldn’t make it on June 25 are glad it’s now on September 3.

Although he had some reservations about the postponed race, Nick Swallow, 48, president of the Specialized Dynasty Mavericks, agreed that maintaining a positive attitude is important.

He and his team recognize the challenges of obtaining permits for events on Singapore’s open roads but remain fully supportive of the SCF in facing these issues.

When asked about the upcoming OCBC National Championships Road Race in Bintan, Mr. Singh said preparations for the race abroad are going smoothly.

We asked Sport Singapore, the official body that oversees national sports groups like SCF, what their thoughts were about what happened.
